Náutica Elcano's origins go back to 1965 when it was established by Martí Puig. He had previously worked and gained experience alongside master craftsmen in well-known boatyards in the area, and has been a pioneer in incorporating new techniques and materials in collaboration with prestigious foreign engineers bringing the latest advances in the market.

The quality and tranquillity of the sea in Majorca and its beauty spots have always attracted sailors from all over the world who, enchanted by the island, come back year after year. This created the need for a company that would store and repair their vessels. So in 1965 Martí Puig set up a workshop near the port offering engine servicing, metalwork and winter storage for boats. Many of the clients from back then or their family members continue using his services today.

In 1986 he bought a boatyard that originally had facilities both for storing boats, due to the high demand that existed, and for boat building. Because of the high demand for boat storage and the difficulties of competing in the traditional boat building market, boat building ceased on the site, leaving all the space for the storage, maintenance and repair of boats. These days Martí Puig and his family still run the company with the same enthusiasm and attention to detail. The vast experience they have gained in recreational boats and the ability of the managers to update facilities in line with demand, expanding the services on offer to include the sale of new and second hand engines and boats, a service workshop, and a shop selling nautical accessories and spare parts, means all your boating needs will be covered.
